HOW CAN YOU
get plugged in
Classes are broken down into age categories so believers who are facing similar issues in life can share common experiences and encourage one another. Each class or “flock” is led by a church elder. The class instructor is either an elder or an approved teacher who has had to meet criteria specified by the Three Rivers Baptist Adult Education Team. The same book of the Bible is studied by each class. The individual classes also have their own times of fellowship outside the Sunday School hour. Those activities may be for prayer or social gatherings.
Our two-fold philosophy:
To equip God’s people in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through in-depth Bible study, believing that God’s Word speaks to all areas of life.
“And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified…” - Acts 20:32
"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. To enhance fellowship among the people of God through mutual encouragement, prayer and group activities." - 2 Tim 3:16
"Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing." - 1 Thes. 5:11
“He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should teach them to their children, that the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born.” - Psalm 78:5
We at Three Rivers believe that children can learn deep truths about God at a young age. At the heart of our children's ministry is the Bible. We believe that this foundation, filled with so many exciting and interesting stories about the great God we serve, prepares our children to know and understand true, saving faith. The curriculum that we use, Truth:78, from Desiring God Ministries, is an excellent material that teaches in depth Biblical truths in a child-friendly manner.
As much as we love gathering with the whole of the body for corporate worship, there is something powerfully unique about an intimate gathering around a living room, a small classroom, or a dining room table that forces us to think differently than when we are in a big room for worship. In today's hyper-busy, over-connected life it is good to take time out of your life for small groups because they foster discipleship and deep, lasting friendships.
Small groups are a great way to get plugged in; and one way we equip God’s people in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ is through in-depth, small group study. These intimate times of study, often in one another's homes, are focused on personal spiritual growth, discipleship, and outreach into our neighborhoods. Come grow with us as we grow in Christ and his likeness through the regular meeting together in a small group format.
After this last year, there exists a very real need for us to regather, reconnect and regain the goodness of intimate community so that we can pray together and tangibly spur one another on to love and good works.
So plan to join with others in an 8-week sermon discussion based small group session starting April 11th and running through May 30th. We will be meeting either on campus from 12-2 PM or in group leaders' homes from 6-8 PM. For those who are still cautious about meeting with others in close proximity, a Zoom option will be made available during that time slot as well.
The Women’s Ministry at Three Rivers Baptist aids in the spiritual growth of women by providing venues which encourage a deeper love for our Lord Jesus Christ. As we gather together to grow in the many roles that God has gifted to us as women, we use our gifts and abilities to serve the body of Christ and equip one another to disciple others.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace…in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. - 1 Peter 4:10, 11
"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up on meeting together" - Hebrews 10:24
The TRB Men’s Ministry provides unique opportunities to gather as brothers, enjoy diverse activities, and sit under solid leadership-focused teaching topics, all while fostering deeper relationships, engaging in discipleship, and worshiping God shoulder to shoulder.
legacy family ministry
By God's grace, the Legacy Family Ministry Team seeks to equip and strengthen husbands and wives as they seek to have God-honoring, biblical marriages. We help equip, support and encourage parents in their efforts to raise children in the fear of the Lord. Furthermore, we help to cultivate young couples to whom we can pass the baton of teaching, training and team leadership. Our prayer is that this will help to ensure an ongoing, strong, biblical family ministry at TRB in the future.
The youth ministry of Three Rivers Baptist seeks to disciple our students in a way which contributes to their completion in Christ. Whether meeting Jesus for the first time as a teen, or growing in faith first found in childhood, we desire to see their faith strengthened. We offer many times for teaching and discussion of Scripture as well as regular times of fellowship. We recognize God’s hand in appointing us to live in this world, and we seek to help our youth to bring the light of Christ into the world rather than hide from it.
young adults ministry
Three Rivers YAM is home to our young adults in their college years and early professional lives. We aim to glorify God by spreading the fame of Jesus beginning with the Midlands of South Carolina and moving to the farthest corners of the globe. Our goal is to equip our young adults through Bible-centered teaching and regular times of getting together to invest in each other's social and spiritual formation. We would love to have you join us on the journey!
